MitoQUAD™ Wavelength Belt

The MitoQUAD™ Belt emits 630nm, 660nm, 810nm, and 850nm — two red and two near-infrared wavelengths selected from the peak action spectra of cytochrome c oxidase, the primary photoreceptor inside mitochondria. 630nm and 660nm target superficial tissue and skin. 810nm penetrates deepest into muscle and joint tissue and is the most studied NIR wavelength. 850nm bridges skin and deep tissue. Using all four simultaneously maximises photobiomodulation across multiple tissue depths in a single session.

TriChip™ technology means each LED diode in the belt contains three independent chips rather than one blended chip. The MitoQUAD™ Belt has 405 diodes × 3 chips = 1,215 LED chips total. Because each chip operates independently, it delivers a precise, focused wavelength rather than a blended approximation — which translates to more accurate dosing and better therapeutic outcomes compared to single-chip or dual-chip designs.

No — and it's by design. The belt is worn directly against the skin, so a lower irradiance of 18 mW/cm² is the appropriate and safe level for contact-distance use. Panels are used from 6–18 inches away, requiring higher output to compensate for the inverse-square law energy loss over distance. The belt eliminates that energy loss entirely. We recommend sessions of ~20 minutes to achieve equivalent fluence (energy dose). The convenience and portability of the belt makes longer sessions easy to fit into daily routines.

The wavelength split — 606 NIR chips vs 405 red chips — reflects the clinical evidence that near-infrared light (810nm and 850nm) penetrates deeper into tissue and has the broadest range of studied benefits including muscle recovery, joint support, and circulation. Red wavelengths (630nm, 660nm) are highly effective at the skin surface. For a belt primarily used on the torso, back, and joints, weighting toward NIR maximises deep-tissue delivery while the red component continues to support skin health.

Note: the power bank is a custom design specific to the MitoQUAD™ — off-the-shelf battery packs will not provide sufficient output to drive 1,215 LED chips correctly.

We recommend 15–20 minute sessions, once or twice daily on the target area. Because the belt is worn directly against skin, sessions are shorter than a panel session but should be done consistently for best results. Most users notice improvements within 2–4 weeks of daily use. The five intensity levels let you start lower and build up as your body adapts.

Yes — that's one of the MitoQUAD™'s key advantages. With the power bank, you can wear the belt during light exercise, walking on a treadmill, yoga, or even while driving. The flexible wrap design and secure fastening keep it in place during movement. We recommend avoiding high-impact activities where the belt could shift significantly during use.

The belt is most commonly used on the abdomen, lower back, hips, and torso. The 22" × 5" treatment area and flexible wrap design also make it suitable for thighs, upper arms, and shoulders. When used as directed it may provide temporary relief of minor muscle and joint stiffness, temporary increase in local blood circulation, and support for healthy skin and relaxation. These are general wellness claims consistent with FDA OTC Class II registration. The device is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.

Red and near-infrared light therapy is well tolerated by most people. We recommend consulting your physician before use if you are pregnant, have active cancer, are taking photosensitising medications, or have a condition directly over the area of intended use. Do not use directly over the eyes, thyroid gland, or any implanted electronic device. Children should use under adult supervision.

If you purchase the belt only, you can add the power bank later or use the belt plugged into a wall outlet indefinitely.
