How does the MitoPRO X improve user experience?

What are the key design characteristics of the MitoPRO X?

The MitoPRO X is not just about user experience; it's also about delivering powerful and effective therapy. The MitoPRO X contains five peak LED wavelengths:

These wavelengths have been carefully selected and mindfully apportioned based on the most recent research to provide a comprehensive range of benefits.

While the MitoPRO X contains five wavelengths, each LED package contains two chips each on its own circuit. This allows for the panel to be 100% Red (590,630,660) or 100% NIR (810.830) or 50% Red and 50% NIR.  

How is the Dual Chip design in the MitoPRO X different from other dual chip panels on the market?

Other products on the market that claim to have 'dual chip' LEDs use two small LED chips on the same circuit in the LED package under the focusing lens. With this simple design, both small chips will either be on or both chips will be off. 

Mito Red pioneered the dual chip, dual circuit LED package design with our groundbreaking and patent-pending MitoADAPT 2.0 series.

This allows for high-intensity doses of light from all wavelengths and from every LED lens package whatever mode is being used (Red only, NIR only or both together). As such, the MitoPRO X is not a 'watered down' multi-wavelength panel like some single chip per lens copycats that have emerged in the marketplace. 

Why should I consider a multi-wavelength panel instead of a panel that is composed of the "traditional" 660nm red and 850nm near infrared?

Traditionally, red light therapy has primarily focused on the 660nm and 850nm peak LED wavelengths - this is primarily for economic reasons and not at all dictated by the strength of scientific evidence.

660nm and 850nm LED chips are used in other industries and are therefore easier to source and less expensive. Our goal is not to cut costs, but to build the best red light therapy devices on Planet Earth. 

The inclusion of the carefully selected 'non-traditional' wavelengths in the MitoPRO X, such as 590nm, 630nm, 810nm and 830nm represents a significant advancement in light therapy that builds on simple foundational concepts.

The MitoPRO X levels up from the MitoPRO+ by adding in a small amount of 590nm for enhanced skin and nitric oxide benefits while swapping out 850nm with 810nm for better penetration, among other benefits.

Furthermore the MitoPRO X contains two chips per lens package (double the number of chips as the MitoPRO+) so the light panel can be made entirely red (590,630,600) entirely NIR (810/830) or 50% Red and 50% NIR. 

Again, the MitoPRO X is not a 'watered down' multi-wavelength panel (using one small chip per lens package) like some copycats that have emerged in the marketplace. 

Why is the 590nm peak LED wavelength included in the MitoPRO X?

The decision to integrate the 590nm wavelength into the MitoPRO X was driven by emerging scientific research that highlights its unique benefits. This wavelength contains higher energy than other wavelengths of red light and borders orange and red light.

Studies using 590nm have shown it can aid in improving the structure and organization of skin cells, improve skin tone, texture, and overall health. Other studies have shown it to stimulate collagen production, helping reduce wrinkles and fine lines, improve redness, speed healing and reduce inflammation in the skin.

One of the most exciting aspects of the 590nm wavelength is its role in enhancing nitric oxide release [17] in cells. Nitric oxide is a crucial molecule in the human body, playing a vital role in various physiological processes, including blood circulation and immune response.

Altogether, we feel the addition of 590nm has great potential to further enhance the red light therapy benefits.

Why is Mode 3 (AII NIR) limited to 5 minutes on the control panel?

Mode 3 is the entire face of the panel NIR (near infrared). The MitoPRO X is a very bright and powerful light therapy device.

Since the power of Mode 3 is high and NIR is invisible we have limited Mode 3 to 5 minutes to prevent any inadvertent extended exposure.

The good news is with the Mito Red Light app you can Use Mode 4 "NIR Extend" to program and run a continuous session of up to 20 minutes. The NIR will cycle to red briefly every 4 minutes during the NIR Extend mode.

Why is the average fluence a bit lower on the 300X and MegaX?

The fluence is calculated by taking the total power or average irradiance over the surface area of the light. With the 300X and MegaX the LEDs are spaced out a bit further than in the other models. The 300X is a bit larger due to needing to have room to connect the table top stand on the back. With the MegaX we wanted a large one piece solution that covered maximum surface area but would still be safely attached to a horizontal stand. Both of these units are still putting out a lot of light!
