Yes, it is important to limit exposure to blue LED light. We recommend using the provided protective eye cup inserts for each therapy session.

For acne, we recommend using Anti-acne mode every other day for the first 30 days. Once desired results are achieved, we reommend using anti-acne mode as needed or at the first sign of a breakout.

We recommend using anti-aging mode, 4-5x a week to maintain healthy, vibrant skin.

Blue light is shorter wavelength, higher energy light. Blue light gets absorbed by the cells on the skin’s surface effectively targeting acne causing bacteria (p. acnes).

If you are familar with our industry leading red light therapy panels., then you know that we make powerful lights.

But any device, such as a red light therapy mask, that you use directly against the skin is going to be less powerful. There are a couple reasons why.

1) Reflection: Our red light therapy panels range from ~2.0J - 4.0J at the usage distance, but some studies suggest that as much as 50% of that energy might be lost due to reflection. When a device is right up against the skin, light reflection is much less of an issue, therefore less power is required.

2) Proximity: The mask is meant to be used right up on the face, so the light must be lower intensity to optimize for safety.

3) Duration: Even after factoring for the benefit of no reflection, the light is lower powered so, for flexible red light therapy devices and masks, we generally recommend longer session times than we do with panels. This is easier to accomplish due to convenience and portability of the mask.
